7 Aberdeen Street – Construct Services

Complete Refrigeration & Air were brought in to asses the existing equipment and plan out a complete replacement under insurance due to an afterhours fire damage. The extent of the damage meant the mechanical services had to be completely redesigned for installation. This included all new equipment, duct work, cushion head boxes, control systems, pipework, air diffusion and electrical feeds.

The Problem

The team started by decommissioning and removing all equipment from site. The new Actron equipment added included; PRV17 | PRV330 | PCG400 | PKY500.
Fire damaged system meant a complete redesign and installation from fresh
Fire damaged materials needed to be handled as hazardous given the condition of site
Crane lift from a busy city location that could not be shut down
Working in with multiple trades to ensure tight dead lines were meet
Timely disposal of materials given site restrictions on loading areas/lay down areas

The Solution

The works were finished in scope, on time with a client that had a great review of our team on and offsite.
Worked closely with builders and engineers to make sure shop drawings, plans and unit selection were all outlined and agreed upon before project start
Early morning starts were actioned to ensure completion of the project and crane lift was completed to minimise interactions with the public and reduce the risk to all involved
Close project management by our experienced team, involving meticulous time keeping and working to defined schedules
Multiple groups work in concert onsite to ensure disposal of old materials was completed on the same day as demolition
Improved energy efficiency across both floors as a result of the redesign and current generation ActronAir equipment

The Outcome

The new system delivered a significant functional upgrade over the previous installation, eliminating the need for the supplementary cooling that the original design required.
A new system that was more functional than the previous installed system.
System was a significant upgrade and we were able to avoid the supplementary cooling that was required under the previous design.
Better energy efficiency and no defects or warranty calls from installation.
Positive feedback received from the builder and site team on our onsite conduct, coordination and timekeeping

The new system is a clear functional upgrade on the previous installation and has performed reliably. We would engage Complete Refrigeration & Air again on future work without hesitation

Feedback

Complete Refrigeration & Air delivered replacement mechanical services following fire damage. From initial engagement through to practical completion, their team operated professionally and made what could have been a difficult insurance-driven project run smoothly.

The transition into the works was well managed. Shop drawings, layouts and unit selections were resolved with our team and the consulting engineers before installation commenced, which avoided delays and rework once construction was underway. Communication throughout was consistent and proactive – we were kept across progress at each stage, and any issues were raised and resolved early rather than escalated late. Onsite, the CRA team held to program, complied with our site inductions and safety requirements, and worked in well with the other trades. The rooftop crane lift in a live Perth CBD location was carefully planned and safely executed, with the early morning scheduling minimising risk to the public. Removal and disposal of fire-affected materials was handled cleanly and within our restricted loading and laydown areas. Close-out was straightforward. As-installed documentation, commissioning data and warranty information were all provided as expected, and we have had no defects or callbacks reported since handover.
