The Problem

These works had to be completed during the school holidays within a very tight timeline to accommodate the in house boarding tenants (several weeks onsite), this meant having a large crew of technicians working together to plan the installation schedule to ensure works are completed on time, there was no room for error on this one.
A large workforce of HVAC technicians and electricians needed to operate concurrently while maintaining safe and efficient workflows
Crane logistics presented challenges due to limited setup space and lift requirements for the packaged units
Late-stage control strategy adjustments were required due to the scale of replacing over 200 indoor units in the 11th hour

The Solution

This proactive coordination ensured all equipment was installed, tested, and operational prior to students returning.
Works were scheduled in with multiple trades (electricians and hvac technicians) to attend site at the same time
Materials were organised before project start date and freighted to site so all equipment was on hand and available for field staff
JSA and SWMS were utilised to minimise work group interactions and maintain safety onsite
Complete Refrigeration & Air’s commissioning team were involved from the start to reduce the time between installation and operation of equipment. This insured equipment was running prior to students returning to school

The Outcome

All equipment was installed on schedule and fully operational prior to students returning to school. Of the 130 units installed, only one indoor unit was identified with a defect before project completion, with rectification works promptly scheduled.
Commissioning was completed smoothly and without issue, with the manufacturer noting the high standard and technical proficiency demonstrated by our team.
